The new event of this year’s Knysna SPLASH festival is the Canoe Polo tournament!
Polo canoes will be supplied by Knysna Yacht Club and the event is only open to competent paddlers – this is not a novice event! Knysna Canoe PoloCC will provide the appropriate guidance.
Please read the rules of entry:
All competitors must register before the event and are required to sign an indemnity form at the time of registration, which will include a declaration of swimming ability. Non-swimmers will not be permitted to enter the event.
In the case of competitors below the age of 18, the indemnity form must be completed and signed by a parent or guardian of the individual concerned.
All competitors must wear life jackets for the duration of the event and competitors must demonstrate that they are in possession of a suitable life jacket at the time of registration and at the start of the event. Any competitor not wearing a life jacket will be instructed to leave the event.
The organisers reserve the right to demand any boat leave the event at any stage if they are considered to be putting themselves or other paddlers at risk.
Any competitor will be required to render assistance to anyone in difficulty at any time before, during or after the event.
All boats must be put to water at the designated launch site and must be restricted to that area. They should not be brought to the registration area to avoid any risk of collision or accident.
All competitors must attend the event and safety briefing before the event. Competitors will assemble at the Knysna Yacht Club slipway at 14:30.
All boats must be cleared from the event area on completion of a.round.
The event manager’s decision on any dispute is final and binding.
